Cougarsimulation DIY Simracing Lenkrad von Christian Kölble

    Stand 04.08.2015

    Prima!!
It looks really cool! My german is rusty

Could you please explain how Xsim drives the FFB wheel?
in order to know if Simtools could do the same.

    Hey RacingMat,
The arduino becomes the ge-forces from the X-sim software

PID Control .......(X-pid)......... like a Axis from a 2DOF Motion Sim ......works the same ;) .

    Next it brings to the H-Bridge ( tuned Thanos v 1.2)....and motor/drive....

It´s very hard to configurate a natural feeling in the Wheel .....it´s not a FFB it´s more a

centrifugal wheel with smooth motions ;) .....i mixes the axes from my profil to a great feeling ,....

at the moment i found any good interface/config for my wheel to create/bring FFB to the motor ;) now it´s the only way to work for my

    regards Chris

Good morning bsft.....any answer for the pot problem ...? At the moment i can handle 540° ....Can you give me a Encoder was handle 1080° or 900° was give me an analog output from 0v-5v ?

The Software X-Sim works very fine for me ;) ( Jedem das seine ...)

That's a pity that such a beautiful wheel has no real FFB... Powerful and precise FFB is a must have for driving simulation IMO
Why don't you use a board seen as USB device with a dedicated firmware?
You can find information on DIY wheel here http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steering-wheels.65/

On RFR Mige direct drive, there is a 10000 encoder

Thanks RacingMat for your answer..... the 10000 step encoder is out of my pricerange ! I need a other possibility. ;)

Im very interessted on a RFR Servo Direct Drive system... it is to expencive for me ....at the moment

Yes you're right.. a great FFB Setup is a must have ..... I find no interface, which offers the possibility ;)

RacingMat i found any (DIY Wheel) with FFB setup on the web with a step by step instructions .....and a usable result !

The link was you posted brings my to a DIY Direct drive servo Wheel like the Leo Bodnar SimSterring ..... i need a interface was can handle a DC Brushless Motor with FFB not a great Servo Drive option... ;)

    Best regards
    Chris

    Update 05.08.2015

    I can create a 720 rotation (12bit) with a leitplastic pot ;) it works fine !... ;)

Now we needed a FFB Controller for great driving experience please help me with this ...... im a noob with interfaces !

Please no hacked g27 pcb´s ..... = a simple controller like a arduino or amc board

Darn, Should have mentioned the Lotus 125 is no replacement for the Tautus, Both have Severely Wrong suspension and Aero setup's after looking into them. Tautus less so but the 125T is Severely broken as per its specs.

Again as i said if you want the most realistic Aero/Suspesion F1/GP2, head on over to FCM or one of the other F1 teams on the forums. F1 isn't Kunos thing as proven with the 125T

    Hi all,

Nick ...i will tested the Formulacorsa mod it looks and works perfect in other driving videos !! Rfactor gives my so mutch better F1 experience....than AC .....no problem for my i drive more GT3/ Gt2,Prototyp, Cup Cars .......as F1 ;) thanks again for your opinion :)

Hey valve1.... i had tested a multi-turn pot it works good .....but the resolution 12bit was too little for me ..... to mutch gaps in the steering.
    For the price perfect !!!

Next i will experiment with this "incremental optical encoder"

Interesting Christian, You would be one of very few who prefer rf2 motion data over AC. I honestly dont personally know of anyone who does to be bluntly honest. I spend over 2-3 days tweeking profiles and tuning center #'s and was Never happy with the results, AC just works.

PS Which mod Did you try? There's Not exactly just one.
