Hello @insanegr , I only use 79deg of the rotation as any more results in very little linear movement being added for any extra angle. That's the sweet spot for my design. This is set in the Jrk Utility by physically moving the lever to its Max and Min positions and press a button to record and apply them.
I use no axis limiting in game engine , not needed with JRKS, pots is direct driven of motor axle, better would be via 2:1 gearing but with hall effects on , I have noticed no difference, still can set my levers to 4095 different positions, (Do that with an ARD,ROFL) which means no loss in resolution with scaling.
Hope that clears the mess above,
    Robbie

hi @eaorobbie if i get it right you mean that when using 79deg you have the best linear motion and if you add more range(degree) IE if you have 119deg the 20deg up and 20deg down would not be such liner as the 79deg ?

was expecting this answer but wasn't sure when scaling you wouldn't have any resolution loss and the 4095 positions " get transferred into scaling area"
with ARD's the best way scaling is doing it from the pot am i right?

i am asking all this things because i want to scale motion and have seen that my sweet spot on my rig is about the same amount we are talking 80 to 90 deg of range and my connection from motors to shoulder are from the suggestions you an @bsft have made (60DEG from motor and 30deg from shoulder and about 15DEG sideways)
    hope my questions are clear:confused:
    thanks in advance:cheers

The 25:1 don't come in left and right versions.

Hi @Nick Moxley , I guess what I was asking is if I had to do it considering there are two motors, each on either side of the motion chair at the back. From the responses I take it they can all be the same orientation inside and the software will take care of the motion.

Yes they can and are most often operated that way.

Correct the Software deals with the reversing, But if you want to keep your Motor setup Mechanically even, you'll still want to pop the case open and swap the gear. They are not a mirror image on the output shafts, One side is longer than the other and has the Pre drilled Hole for adding a locking bolt.

@Nick Moxley , is there a tutorial for this on this site? if so I'll go dig it up.

If it's easy enough to do then I'll swap them once I have them. Sounds like having them mechanically even is the preferential choice.

Its esay peezy, Just pop the screws out and flip the gear, the 60:1 boxes are riveted together, PGsaw motor's are screwed together.

ONE thing to pay attention to, Dont force the motor back on the gear box, there's a little bushing that needs to be put back on in a Very particular way....just don't force it is all.

Yeah, no brainer to buy just the gearbox. I went ahead and bought 3x of those Bodine motor, contacted the supplier, he said the gears are metal and super smooth, no noise. He did mention that the brushed on the motor, if wear out, will make noises. But I might change to brushless motor for testing, so I pulled the trigger. :)

    thanks for all the info.

Neither Brushed motor's Nor worm drive gear boxes make very much noise......Brushless motor's ? and what controller are you planning to run those ?

@Nick Moxley , I believe you run these motors correct. What couplers do I need for them, the 6.35mm by 12mm or by 12.7mm for straight on fit? much thanks
