I am a VR/Sim enthusiast and i am looking at building my first RIG. I have all the tools/power and room one would need but have no idea where to start. I would prefer to build it out of wood but i honestly dont know where to get the plans i need. I am a simple man. I like easy to follow instructions and if anyone could provide them that would be amazing. I am looking for a 3DOF motion rig, More for flight sims (elite dangerous/FSX/Warthunder) but love the idea of incorporating racing sims as well. I want something that can move the entire rig and not just a seat mover. I think this is the way of the future and already own a oculus and beefy pc. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks everyone.

You will find the FAQ section covers some more specific topic areas, like types of simulators, designs and motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

In the FAQs/Bulding Resources there is a section on frame dimensions for various simulators: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/cockpit-design-dimensions.116/

We have a glossary for all those pesky acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Feel free to ask questions, there is a very active community here that is good at giving tips during planning, reviewing purchase lists, giving feedback and encouragement during the build and providing advice on actually sorting out motion profiles.

    Good luck with your project.

That project looks awesome! It seems there is alot more headaches involved with the more dof haha. Do you happen to have the plans from your first build? A materials list would be awesome too. I am in Canada
