In my search to understand the electronics to run the Sims using Ard and MM's I came across this site which might be of some use to the Newbies, me included....

Some good info but it has been found that the heat and the high amps can affect the Ard, remember our sims can push these to their limits same as the other type of boards, plus high amp feedback can kill usb ports and anything connected to them, some use opti couplers so no power can be feed back to the Ard in case of driver failure or motor lockups. But saying this I have not heard of one having this issue in ages.

But some good info , well spotted.

I thought the MM's purpose was to protect the Ard. With heat-sinks added to the MM from what I've read here and other places protects the MM from burning up under high loads....such as you guys have put them in. The MM's are such a low price I was thinking when I get to build the Sim for my friend that I will probley set it up like Pit suggested here. http://www.xsimulator.net/community...cts-as-a-single-motor-driver-more-power.5482/
