I've searched the forum and can't find anything about this. If already covered, please give me a clue.

Otherwise, here is the issue. I've driven GT and sedans and most have a seat layback angle of 20 degrees. That is the angle of tilt back from vertical. (i.e. 70 degrees from horizontal.)

It looks like almost all seat motion sim rigs are putting the seat at about 20 degrees.

I've also driven formula cars (Formula Ford and Skip Barber) where the seat has a 30 degree layback. Formula One is probably even further back.

What changes in the actuator geometry should occur if the sim seat is set at the 30 degree layback. It would appear that without changing the location of the actuators, the motion in a turn would be lifting the body more than tilting it.

My intuition tells me that the actuator's base should be moved closer to the seat pivot?

not really, if you look at @Nick Moxley sim project, his seat leans quite a bit back at centre. while I like mine more upright with a little lean.
Once that seat angle is set and you balance the frame, the actuators/motors go where you want them.
Obviously frame design does need to be taken into thought for correct placing of motors.
Draw up a sketch of what sim frame you have in mind and we can advise of best motor placement

+1 my seat angle was an evolution over time when my rig was Static. It started as a perfectly square box that was Chopped down Multiple time's to get the angle my seat currently sits.

And as Dave said, the COG is determined After you choose your seat angle, So it becomes rather moot as to what angle the seat's at.
