    Here is the start of the flight simulators project. A great deal of research has been done and I feel ready to assemble the control system with what came with the used sims and update with the Arduino Uno R3 boards.

    The final output to the simulators will be all analog. Parker BD99 valve amplifier boards will drive the actuator servo valves For direction. PWM Input from Arduino Uno will be converted to analog thanks to Yobuddy's pwm to analog pcb. Feedback is from Temposonics LP piston type potentiometers outputting 0 - 10vdc or 10 - 0vdc. With the correct code and software both the Ard and BD99 will receive input for a pseudo PID configuration. More to come on this as help from the community is needed.

    The BD99 can do proportional for position or integrator for velocity feedback. This is either/or selection, not a PID configuration. My thinking is let the Ard do one so a type of PID can be made.

    Ok, back after summer events! Recently found a perfect DAC shield for the Arduino UnoR3. The PCB's will be copies made by OSH Park. It is capable of the following:
    • Generate 4 0-10V analog output to drive the BD99 servo boards
    • 2 0-10V analog input (unprotected) to connect to the voltage output of BD99 and used as the integrator for velocity feedback.
    • A RS485 Driver (use RX/TX of Arduino) for communication to simulator from motion control computer. Perform Derivative computation to complete the true PID operation.
    • 2 I2C Oled connector (Adafruit or Tindie Oled) display motion information.
    • 1 Rotary Encoder to read roll information of flight simulator.
    • 1 WS2812B RGB Led possible caution indicator

    The schematic above will not be used. 6 of the boards are on hand from OSH Park. Eagle CAD pcb software has been purchased and will be used to design a specific use arduino unoR3 shield. More post will on this topic . Thanks All.

    Not to throw a spanner in the works , but we use the K8055 to produce dac control for the sabertooth controller , maybe we could modify the app to run this.
    Just in case another option, got me fingers crossed the Ard will work.

    No, I wouldn't have space to store it in my tiny garage. Its residing in the Middle East (Jordan). I just helped with the proper controller electronics to be compatible with all know motion software.




    EDIT: PS. What's up with the dislike? Is it too big for you ? LOL Don't worry! Its not dangerous 220v operated... its just 600PSI hydraulics.

    OK! EagleCAD is purchased and a fumbled attempt to learn how to use it. Confused more now and only foul up what is done to design the DAC shield for the Arduino Uno using SMC3. Please help from anyone who is proficient with EagleCAD. I know no big deal if one is knowledgeable. but not here. I can upload a sketch of what is needed if someone will kindly help.

    The 3rd simulator is going to be picked up in 2 weeks. Headed to Arizona desert. This time of year is really nice as opposed to July of 115 F. A good kink in the behind would do some good to get rolling again. Cheers,John
