This is not incorrect, but yaw is not realistic for traction loss, which is why most of the Car sims now have a more realistic motion calculation available in Extra 1 or 2 in Simtools.

ok ok, I stand corrected. I was just pointing out general terms.

Didn't really want to jump in bsft, and Yaw is fine for initially testing of traction loss with sliders in Simtools, but did not want the OP to not be aware of Extra 1 or 2, as yaw does not at all feel realistic for traction loss in a car sim.

I don't think I'm hiding anything that is not in my build http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/seattimes-dc-motor-sim.5024/, 5 axis motors, buttkicker and a Rift DK2. I'm very happy with it for the price - The realism is often so strong it is surprising. Eg. I had a racing friend over recently who had not been on a Rift before and when he went off the track at high speed into the wall the feeling of impact with motion + Rift was so strong that he grunted and physically pulled the steering wheel off its mounts and was holding it in his hands:eek:. Funny as:), no real damage done.

another great sim. like it a lot.
i think the acceleration and braking motion need to be reversed.

Nice job and video @Al.Bundy. Great walk around and you managed to position the camera just right to capture the actual motion. Looks fun with surge and sway!

Sweet another Jrk sim comes alive.
I would include a little % of surge onto the roll and pitch motors to capture the gear changing thus giving the feel of the gear snatching and the rear of the car dropping , then surge table should move forwards under accel and backwards under braking , with the opposite effect on top the result should feel spot on, I have found this in the past helping others tune their sims in.

@eaorobbie that was a great suggestion, I did just what you said and now driving feels you are so much more inside the car , like the power of the car pushing you down into the track , great feeling, thanks so much !
BTW, more tips are welcome ;)

    Hey Al,

Any chance of posting some more pictures of the Surge and Traction loss mechanics. the video is a little dark and griny to make out the details.

was also going to ask if there was a reason you had the surge that way. I see robbie caught it first.

Isn't it awesome to have it all together finally. Lol end of a long project. NOW..... get thinking of your next addition.

    Thanks

Finally got the traction loss sorted out, it works fabulous now !! Thanx to Value1 ofcorse :thumbs
The only trouble I have is with the surge table, when I brake it goes backwards and that feels very natural, when I accelerate it pushing me forwards in every gear when I have it at 100% strength but the downside of that is that the gear changes are so rough......when I turn it down with the tuning center the gear change is softer but also I loose the acceleration slide forwards wich I like so much grrrr:mad:.....maybe someone has a solution for this ? Actually I think I have to live with it this way cause its on the same axis..
